Standard Booking Policy

To confirm your booking with Tano African Safaris, a 40% deposit of the total tour price is required. The remaining balance is due no later than 21 days before the tour departure date. For tours involving Gorilla or Chimpanzee tracking, full payment for the permits is required at the time of booking to secure availability.

Bookings not secured by the required deposit will not be considered confirmed.

Cancellation Policy (General)

• Cancellations made between 45 and 90 days before departure will incur a 40% cancellation fee of the total tour price.
• Cancellations made within 45 days of the departure date, or failure to show up, will result in a 100% cancellation fee of the total tour price.

Cancellation Policy (On Fully Paid Bookings)

For bookings that have been fully paid and include Gorilla or Chimpanzee tracking:

• More than 90 days before the tracking date: 30% cancellation fee
• 89 to 46 days before the tracking date: 60% cancellation fee
• 45 to 9 days before the tracking date: 80% cancellation fee
• 8 to 0 days before the tracking date: 100% cancellation fee

Minimum Age & Health Requirements for Primate Tracking

• The minimum age for Gorilla tracking is 15 years.
• The minimum age for Chimpanzee tracking is 12 years.
• Visitors showing symptoms of flu or other airborne illnesses may be denied access to the primates to protect their health and conservation.

Availability & Substitutions

All accommodations and activities are subject to availability at the time of booking. Reservations are only made once we receive your confirmed itinerary and deposit payment. If any of the quoted accommodations are unavailable, we reserve the right to offer suitable alternative options. Please note, any substitutions may result in a change to the final tour price.

Insurance Requirements

All travelers are required to have valid medical and travel insurance to cover any unforeseen circumstances. We highly recommend obtaining Flying Doctors Evacuation coverage through AMREF (African Medical and Research Foundation) for emergency air evacuation while in East Africa.
